Press Conference on TOB-G Project’s final results on tobacco cessation for high risk groups

On Tuesday November 21th 2017, a press conference took place at the Institute of public health in Athens, where the final results of the first implementation of TOB-G on tobacco cessation for high risk groups were presented.

Patients with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pregnant women and adolescents successfully quit smoking, following the intervention of specialists who had previously received training through the TOB-G guidelines.

The presentation was made by Prof. Panagiotis Behrakis, Head of the TOB-G program and Associate Professor of the University of Athens and Harvard, the scientific responsible Anna Kokkevi, Professor Emeritus of the University of Athens, Viktoria Vivilakaki, Assistant Professor of the Department of Obstetrics, TEI of Athens and Anastasios Mastrogiannakis, Director of European Programs of CMT Prooptiki.

The event was welcomed by Mr. Theofilos Rosenberg, Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDCP), responsible scientific body for the implementation of the TOB-G program in our country.
